    It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Eugenia T. Klem on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at age 94. Eugenia known by friends and family as Jean or Jinx, was cherished as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, whose presence touched the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her son, daughter, grandson, sister, nieces, and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband of 31 years, Richard J. Klem.


    Born November 4, 1929, in Rochester, New York, Jean spent most of her life in Webster, New York. Jean graduated from East High School in 1947. She served her professional life with the Rochester Telephone Company for 35 years and is a 2009 inductee to the Telephone Pioneer Hall of Fame, Frontier #37.


Jean loved people, always had a smile for them, and was truly interested in how they were doing. She was an avid volunteer with the Visiting Nurse Service, Meals on Wheels, and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.


    Jean enjoyed the outdoors and hard work. She loved her family, friends, working in the garden and being active.


    She had many friends in the West Webster community, who affectionately referred to her as Jinx. Jean truly enriched the lives of all who knew her.


    Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 12, from 5pm – 8pm at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home 12 South Ave., Webster. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 13 at St. Rita’s Church, 1008 Maple Dr., Webster. Interment at White Haven Memorial Park.
