Obituary of Gertrude T. Provost

     Webster:  Gertrude passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard and sister, Elizabeth Teerlinck.  She leaves her children, David (Mary Ann), Stephen, Thomas (Vicki) Provost, and Rita (Bill) Tweedie; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Brooks; sisters-in-law Ethel Archambo and Carol Henderson, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also predeceased by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Gertrude was loved and cherished by many and will be missed.

     Gertrude had worked for many years at Webster High School, having served as the secretary for Mr. R.L. Thomas, and later as secretary at St. Rita’s School. She was a long-time parishioner and Eucharistic minister of St. Rita’s Church.

     Friends may call 4-7 PM Tuesday, May 30 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 31 at St. Rita’s Church 1008 Maple Dr., Webster. Interment, West Webster Cemetery.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Rita’s Church or a charity of your choosing.
