Obituary of Walter H. Rice
Webster: Passed quietly in his sleep February 14 at the Friendly Home. Walter was born December 20, 1923 in Smethport, PA, the youngest of six children to Duane and Bessy Rice. Following his naval service in WWII, he moved to Rochester, NY; married Marie Cuseo (July 1950), and they raised a family in Penfield/Webster. Walter worked most of his professional life for the Todd Division of Burroughs Corp. He was a member of the St. Rita's Catholic Parish (Webster) and very active in their Knights of Columbus chapter. Walter was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marie. He is survived by his three children: Craig, Sheila and Brian, six grandchildren: Valerie, Christopher, Joseph, Maria, Rebecca and Andrew, and four great grandchildren: Astrid, Maeve, Oliver and Sam. He will be remembered by all for his dedication to his family, and his unselfish, calm, honest, kind-hearted and hard-working demeanor. Whenever anyone needed a hand, Walter was there to offer his.
A private service for his immediate family was held on Saturday, February 18. Donations in Walter’s name may be made to the Knights of Columbus at Websterkofc.org.
