Obituary of Margaret "Peggy" Seeley (McGinnity)
Webster: Passed away peacefully November 22, 2022, at the age of 96 in the loving presence of her Son, Richard, at the Aaron Manor Nursing Home. Forever the Irish lass, Peggy was born April 8, 1926, on a farm in Kilmore, County Monaghan, Ireland. She will be sadly missed by her Sons, Richard (Joanne), Sean (Suzanne); Daughter, Maureen Seeley; Grandchildren, Cristin (Dan), Sarah, Liam; great grandchildren, Aden, Lila, and Ethan; Brothers, Joe and Gene; her loyal furbaby companion, Finbar; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews both here and abroad. Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Donald; son, Eugene "Jerry".
Peggy will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many. As a young lass in Ireland, she realized her dream to come to America at the age of 17. The eldest of eight McGinnity children, she was the first to immigrate and soon younger siblings followed. They all settled in the Rochester area and the McGinnity name became well known. She loved to interact with people and was reflective of her many lifetime jobs. She was a longtime employee of BOCES, where she planned and prepared many lunches for students throughout the area. She traveled in her retirement to many places and always found time to visit the family home in Co. Monaghan, Ireland. Peggy was also dedicated to her faith and was a member of St. Paul's Church. A special thanks to the entire staff, nurses, and aides at Aaron Manor 300 Wing for the compassionate care provided to Peggy throughout her stay.
