Deacon Ray Defendorf posted a condolence

Joanne, was a gentle spirit, positive,, kind and warmly welcoming to all. As spouse of a community "institution" (Stan was a very well known figure in Elmira as jovial radio personality, member of the county legislature, parade Santa, hospital community relations and fundraising pro, and ordained deacon), Joanne was so much more than a life-partner. Joannie raised her children, supported Stan as a devoted wife and partner, and gifted her country, schools, her church and community as a talented professional secretary.
Joanne's deep faith, attitude of gratitude and joyful personality made her a terrific spouse, mother and respected member if her Church and Community.
Even in her later years at the Aaron Home, her kind and positive personality was evident. May this great lady res peacefully with Stan in the Lord's embrace.
