How do you put a lifetime of love on paper?
How can you possibly summarize 99 years of someone's life in the black and white of words on paper?

Love is a collection of moments, woven together with the thread of time and made beautiful in the light of grace.  As we reflect back on Louie’s life, I think what we hold most dear are the moments.

Moments that made us want to pull our hair out, but moments that now leave us with a smile as we laugh about all the things that made him, him.
Louie made the best of life.  He loved a good game of euchre, and was always ready to cast a pole in search of “walter”….the fish that always seemed to get away.
He believed for years that the Readers Digest was life most perfect handbook, and that it contained the answers to many of life's great mysteries.  Dessert was his favorite meal until the last couple years of his life, when he suddenly became “allergic” to sugar. (But denied that his favorite things had any sugar in them)

Louie treasured his family. He loved telling everyone how things should be done, and was always willing to compromise as long as things ended up his way.

Louie was one incredible man… he served in WWII and survived the Great Depression. He worked hard for his family, and knew how fix pretty much anything.  He lived many days with the motto of never telling yourself that you can’t, and that you could get anywhere by simply putting one foot in front of the other.

To say that our hearts are broken with his loss is an understatement, but we are thankful for all the special times we had with him. We each hold in our hearts a love and a story that can never be taken from us.. moments that have been woven together throughout the years.

Louie leaves us with a beautiful reminder that the best things in life are never things… but all the simple little moments along the way.

We love you Louie, xoxo
