Shirley experienced many challenges early in her life; the great depression, life threatening medical complications, caring for and ultimately the death of her mother, World War II that took her brother’s life at sea in a training exercise and her ‘husband to become’ into battle.

Shirley graduated from RBI (Rochester Business Institute) with a Medical Secretarial degree in 1947.  She worked in this capacity for many years, working in the medical community she so admired and grateful for the medical blessings received.  In her early married life, relocation to Vestal, NY created her new community and a growing family.

Shirley and husband Charles moved back to Rochester, NY to join the Beisheim family Screen Printing business owned/operated by her Father, and established ownership/operations in the following years.  Shirley was integral to the business daily activities, providing skill, strength, support to the business, her husband, a healthy lunch, and again a growing family.

Shirley related her life as abundantly blessed due to the expertise of the medical community, including orthopedic surgeons allowing her to pursue her interests and talented accomplishments.  A great joy was creating her personally designed Christmas Cards that went far and wide, and her ‘Life's Story’ for family and close friends.  Additionally, she co-edited, while retired in Largo, Florida, a veteran’s story book of "How We Served Our Country”.

During her Florida retirement years living in the Palm Hill community, she, with husband and program participants, led the community in their Memorial and Veterans Days tributes for many years.  Shirley especially enjoyed her Thursday visits at East Bay Nursing Home offering songs, stories and reminiscing with patients with patriotism, community, storytelling and compassion ALL on display.

Shirley returned to family and friends in Webster, NY in 2010, returning to her beloved UCC Church Webster singing in the choir and offering her specialties from her kitchen, especially her baked goods, jams, canned preserves and sewing skills.  She enjoyed many years of summer months at beloved Black Lake, Perth, ONT, a lovely place to enjoy family and friend visits, and her favorite, the loons.

Her life was a singing life from youth and senior choirs at Calvary Baptist Church, to singing 14 years with the Suncoast Singers and Church of The Isles choir Indian Rock, Largo, Florida, to the UCC Church, Webster, contemporary choir.

Shirley loved to be Beanie, Grandma, Great Grandma, loving her 17 Grandchildren; Amy Banning, Brian and Connor Reynolds, Kara and Kristin Bailey, Christopher, Katie and Jonathan Venezia, Jessica Pastore, Owen, Sean, Kyle, Brian and Steven Hondorf, Austin Reynolds, Peter and John Nionakis, her 15 Great Grandchildren, ALL a true blessing of family she enjoyed immensely.  She shared her abundant life experiences, interests, skills, spirit, patriotism, and life challenges, effortlessly passing them down to family and friends as teachings, guidance, love, and support for ALL.

Shirley now flies with the butterflies, she sings with the Angels, she is so deserving of that reward.  We carry the burden of our loss, and carry her torch forward here on earth, but more importantly we celebrate the amazing life of Shirley Jean Reynolds.  Gods Peace.
