Obituary of Martin "Marty" Maryan
Passed away on March 9, 2019, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Marty is predeceased by his parents, Norman E. and Mary Maryan. Marty never let MS define him, and lived his life to the fullest every day. He leaves behind his spouse of 36 years, Susan; son, Peter (Stephanie); and daughter, Julie (Andrew) Shumek; siblings, Norman “Skipper” (Caroline), Barbara (Daniel) Blake, Carol (Jerry) George, Chuck, and Michael (Sharon); brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Susan) Farley; sister-in-law, Nancy (Sanjay) Gilani; nieces and nephews, Broward (Elizabeth), Taren (Chel) Cardona, Ian (Melissa) Blake, Philip (Katy), Andrew (Rachel), Allison (Stephen) Wood, Corey (Theresa), Brian (Rachel) Farley, Katie Farley, Jay Gilani, Nikki Gilani, and Arun Gilani; great nieces and nephews.
Marty graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management from Canisius College. He retired from Xerox in Webster after working there for more than 20 years, and was an active member at Webster Presbyterian Church. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude towards the doctors and nurses who cared for him the past eight years.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life and spirit of Marty on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 am at Webster Presbyterian Church, 550 Webster Road, Webster. A reception will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Chapters/NYR).
