Took this for Tom the morning after he passed. Beautiful sunrise through the trees. Reminds me of all the times the kids would say they were going to "Granma and Boppa in the woods!" He will be greatly missed by us all. Tom had the most wonderful smile. We loved getting together for all the family celebrations and holidays at their beautiful home in the woods or at my sister's, or anywhere the celebration would be so we could all be together. Tom and Donna were always so welcoming as well as the whole family. My heart goes out to Donna and everyone in the family. We will cherish those times with you always. Deacon Ecker was a wonderful man and a huge influence in my life. I first met him when I joined Clown Ministry at St. Joseph’s. He lead our group of preteens and teens to children hospitals, parades and charity events. The most memorable was volunteering at the International Special Olympics at Notre Dame. He directed the 7 last words of Christ for many years. He was such an influence to me that I chose him to marry my husband and I. Both Tom and Donna met with my husband and I to give us pre marital counseling. He was always will to go the extra mile to help someone who was suffering. Thank you Tom for being a part of my life!
