Deepest condolences to Mike's family and friends. I knew Mike for only a short time through the Veterans Writing Group. We'll miss his thoughtful writing and kind presence at the meetings.

Mike was the big brother that I never had, ever since Mike married my sister in 1971. He introduced me to auto racing and Watkins Glen. Many a happy memory of car races together. Since he moved back to New York we went to the Glen every fall including last year when Mike drove on the old street course for the Watkins Glen Vintage Gran Prix weekend. Our family will miss you. Godspeed Mike

Mike & I had been exchanging emails for past years on ancestry research.
I've been gathering my Heissenberger family ancestry for awhile and Greta put us in-touch. I can say I found a kindred soul in Mike, as it takes an engineering mindset to be successful at this kind of research and not get discouraged!
So very sad to hear of his passing.
Please take care in Webster, and hopefully my parents and I can get together with Heissenberger family soon, and catch-up.

On this day of grieving I send my deepest condolences to the family for the loss of your dear love one Mr. Hill. May each of you find strength through God's promises found at John 5:28,29 as encouragement. Please consider reviewing the attached brochure.

Mike and I met in 1965 during our Junior year at Arlington (TX) High School. We became good friends over our love of fast cars in general and Chevrolets in particular. We both worked on our cars together and he taught me a lot of basic auto mechanic skills. We spent time at local dragstrips, ate lots of Mexican food, and went to auto races. He was almost always cheerful and was very kind to everyone. He was one of the smartest men I have ever known. Who else joins the Army, goes to Vietnam (and Ft. Knox Army Base), gets discharged, goes to work for the US Postal Service while going to UTA for a Mechanical Eng degree? He was phenomenal and a great friend. I miss you, Mike!

Mike helped organize and oversaw our genealogy writer's group in Johnson County, Kansas. I considered him a friend and we had many discussions together about genealogy, Vietnam, et al. I have notified our group members that knew him.
We are so sorry for his lost.

I got to know Mike through the RGS writers group. Mike was a wonderful person who , clearly, loved his family history. We were blessed to have known him.
