Obituary of Helen Cecelia Dworski Carter
Webster: Monday, March 27, 2017, age 97. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordon Carter and granddaughter, Kristine Rich Rush. Survived by daughters, Janice (Robert) Rich and Wendy (Robert) Devereaux; grandchildren, Deborah (Jeffrey) Higgs and Chad (Julie) Rush; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Ryan and Jacob Higgs, Emilie and Daniel Rush, Danielle (Ryan) Kader and Josh Dahl; great-great-grandsons, Sullivan and Hudson Kader; sister, Irene Kislowski; sister-in-law, Jeanette Carter; many nieces and nephews.
Helen grew up in Clifton Park and Scotia, NY and later worked as a private secretary for General Electric in Schenectady, NY, where she met her Navy Lieutenant husband, Gordon Carter. After raising their family in Penfield, she enjoyed her later years in Webster golfing, solving crossword puzzles and sharing memories with her fun-loving family and friends. She was a member of the Engineering Women's Club, Alpha and Ruth Circles at Webster Presbyterian Church, and Ontario Golf Club.
Friends are invited to her Memorial Service 2:00 PM Saturday, April 1, at Webster Presbyterian Church, 550 Webster, Rd., Webster, NY 14580, with the Rev. Dr. Lawrence DeVuyst presiding. In lieu of flowers, please consider Young Life Rochester East, PO Box 251, Webster, NY 14580, or the Church's Memorial Fund at the above address.
