Obituary of Patricia L. Peters

Pat Peters, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully after a long  illness, on December 12, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents, Wallace and Dorothy  Forsyth; her husband, Karl Peters; and her sisters, Thelma MacCollom and Phyllis Montana. She  is survived by her son, David; her loving daughter, Elaine Lyons (Daniel Peck); and her  cherished grandsons, Brendan (Laila van Embden Andres) and Evan. She is also survived by her  brother, Richard Forsyth; her sister, Dianne Ingersoll; her brother-in-law, Thomas Montana; her  sister-in-law, Marilyn Peters; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pat’s life was centered around family, friendship, and adventure. Her family was always her top  priority, and she found great joy in knitting sweaters for her daughter and grandsons, lovingly  crafting each one.

After the passing of her husband, Pat remained in their family home in Webster, where she  tended to the family’s Christmas tree farm for many years. In her later years, she moved to  Fairport to be closer to her daughter, valuing the opportunity to spend more time with her and her  grandsons.

Pat treasured her Saturdays with Elaine, spending the day shopping and sharing lunch together. Those local outings were matched by an extraordinary two-month journey through Egypt, Israel,  and Europe, where they immersed themselves in the history, food, and charm of each destination.  This unforgettable trip was one of many adventures Pat embraced, including visits to Panama,  England, Scotland, and Hawaii. Each journey enriched her life with new stories and experiences,  yet she always found joy in life’s simpler pleasures: savoring Maria’s Mexican cuisine, indulging  in her favorite milk chocolate, See’s candies, or sharing a margarita with her nephew, Tommy.

Pat cherished the time she spent with her siblings, whom she loved deeply. She traveled far and  wide to visit them across the world, treasuring the opportunity to reconnect, reminisce, and  create new memories together. Equally dear to her heart was her close-knit circle of friends of  over 50 years from Webster, with whom she shared weekly lunches and other celebrations.  These gatherings were filled with laughter, conversation, and the joy of companionship that  brightened her days. Whether over a shared meal or a shared adventure, her time with family and  friends was a source of immense happiness and fulfillment in her life.

Pat had a lively personality and loved bringing people together to celebrate and have fun. She  was known for hosting memorable gatherings, including two infamous "Wallstock" parties at her  home in Webster to commemorate Woodstock. These lively events, filled with family, friends,  and laughter, showcased her ability to make any occasion special and unforgettable.

Pat’s talents and interests brought joy to her own life and those around her. She was a devoted  gardener with a particular love for lilacs. Her evenings were often filled with crossword puzzles,  where her sharp mind thrived, or lively games of pinochle or euchre, played with her  characteristic enthusiasm and wit. Pat had an uncanny knack for luck at the casino, often  returning home with stories of her winnings that left her family marveling at her seemingly  endless streak of good fortune.

Pat’s love for her cats—Sammy, Christy, and Miss Puddy—was a constant source of joy and  companionship. Her home was brightened by their presence, and they held a special place in her  heart. This affection extended to her baking, as Pat was known for her rhubarb pie—a family  favorite that filled her kitchen with delicious aromas and her loved ones with fond memories.

Pat lived a life rich with love, laughter, and the cherished company of family and friends. In  accordance with her wishes, a private remembrance of Pat’s life will be held by her immediate  family to honor her journey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lollypop  Farm, an organization dear to her heart.
