Obituary of Henry J. Kujawa

Webster: Sun., Jan. 22, 2017, age 85. Predeceased by father and mother, Joseph C. and Rose Kujawa; brother, Joseph C. Kujawa, Jr.; first wife, Mary Steinorth Kujawa. Survived by his devoted and loving wife, Dolly; loving and adoring children, Kimberly (David) Dailey, Aili (Neven Maffett) Kujawa, Kimberly (Stephen) Kozlowski, Mark (Tracy) Simons, T. Scott (Carolyn) Simons, Jeffrey Simons, H. Joseph (Kimberly) Kujawa, Jr.; special grandchildren, Peter, Andrea & Nathan Dailey, Faith Kujawa, David & Eric Maffett, Elijah, Nathaniel & Macena Kozlowski, Rachel, Michael & Emily Simons, Isabella & Hudson Simons, Michael Struckman, Christopher & Ryan Kujawa; brother, Franklin (friend Dee) Kujawa; sister-in-law, Jan Kujawa; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Henry graduated from Webster High School, class of 1949, and received his bachelor's Degree from Cornell University in 1954. He was extremely proud of his military service as a helicopter pilot in the U. S. Navy where he achieved the rank of Commander. Henry was a science teacher in the Webster Central School District for 20 years-retiring in 1987. After retiring from teaching, he was a courier for Rochester General Hospital for over 15 yrs. Henry was the longest serving Democrat on the Webster Town Board (over 30 yrs.) and was elected Webster Town Supervisor in 1992-93. Henry was also involved in the following organizations: Webster Area Youth Services, Webster Cable Access Commission, Webster Conservation Board, Webster Library Board, Webster Area Fireman's Exempt, Webster Museum and Historical Society, East Bay Improvement Association, and Webster Federal Credit Union. Henry was the owner of Birchcrest Pools for over 50 years. There will be a Memorial Service for Henry on Saturday, February 4th at 7:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of Webster, 169 East Main St., Webster. In lieu of flowers, Henry would appreciate a donation to the Webster Museum & Historical Society, 18 Lapham Park, Webster, NY 14580 or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, P.O. Box 368, Pittsford, NY 14534. The Kujawa family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. John Huselton for his committed, dedicated, and expert care he provided and to the Hildrebrandt Hospice Care Center for the exceptional comfort they provided.
