Obituary of Arnold W. Read

Webster:  Died June 20, 2024 at the age of 96.   Arnold is predeceased by his wife, Marion.  He is survived by his children, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Read, Mark (Michele) Read and Lauren (Gary Cauffman) Read; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

After high school, Arnold enlisted and served in the Marines during WWII.  He was an entrepreneur and founded Woodland Printing, Inc. (which included offset, letterpress, silkscreen, etc.), and Web Trailers, Inc., both of which laid the foundation for businesses to be taken over and run by two of his children.  He and his wife were active members of the community and were two of the founding members of Knollwood Swim Club and St. Paul’s RC Church, where he served as an usher for many years.  Arnold was a long-time member of the Webster Lions Club and served as president numerous times.  He was an avid horseman throughout his life.

We would like to thank the staffs at the Jewish Home and The Maplewood Nursing Home for the loving care they provided him.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Sat., July 13 at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 783 Hard Road, Webster. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, a donation may be made to your favorite charity in his name. Willard H. Scott Funeral Home
