Obituary of Philip E. Roy
Rochester: Monday, June 24, 2024, age 90. Predeceased by his wife, Mary-Agnes [Alrutz]; previous wife, Patricia A. Napier; brothers, Grady, Raymond, Dale. He leaves his children, Robert J., Timothy A. (Lori), Tracey J. (George) Roberts; grandchildren, Molly (Tyler), Katie, Mary, Daniel, Chloe, Olivia; many beloved nieces and nephews.
Philip graduated from Charlotte High School in 1952 and RIT in 1972. He was a proud Staff Sargeant in the US Army. Philip was active in the local theater community as a member of Kodactors, RAPA, and the Black Friars. Retired as a Roll Coating Engineer at Eastman Kodak Co, in 1986.
Phil was an avid runner. He also enjoyed sailing on his boat in the 90's. He and Mary lived in Redfield for many years where they did things like Snowmobiling and Gardening. Phil loved to sing, mostly songs from musicals. You would frequently hear him singing around the house. He was in the Rochester made movie 'Fear No Evil', 1981 as the coach in the dodgeball scene. He loved his Children, Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Friends may call 5-7 PM Monday, July 8, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where his memorial service will follow at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
