Cathy L. Blakey, age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024. She was born February 27, 1948, in Illinois to Harold “Pete” and Marian Longman. She was a 1966 graduate of Mount Morris High School and 1970 graduate of Purdue University. She worked as a chemist for Kodak, she was a stay-at-home mom, and later in life, a chemistry teacher at Williamson High School. Cathy was a fiercely independent person, and found joy in her family, friends, animals, and nature. She was an active part of her community - theater, the Seneca Park Zoo, the Webster Arboretum, and her beloved singing group, Women of Note.

     She leaves her daughters, Lara (Dan) Richardson and Courtney Blakey; grandson, Nicholas Schell; brother, Ted (Sylvia) Longman.

     Family, friends, and others whose lives Cathy touched are invited to her Memorial Service Thursday, June 20th, 11am at Asbury First United Methodist Church, 1050 East Ave., Rochester. There will be a virtual option as well.
