When I first met Tom and learned his mom (at that time) was 104, lived alone and was sharp as anyone could be, I asked immediately if he would take me to met her, I didn’t want to lose a minute meeting this amazing woman I’d heard so much about.
That first meeting was love at first sight for me. She didn’t look her age and I marveled at her independence and intellect….It was hard to believe her age , she didn’t look or act as I expected but I had never met someone 104.
I loved listening to her stories/memories of times gone by and asking questions of the past she so generously answered. What a wealth of information she was!
It was an honor to met and get to know her and I’m grateful for the opportunity, I will always remember and cherish our chats over the past year. There will never be anyone like Mrs Jean Short.
RIP gram, you were loved by all. ❤️

Short Family,
I was truly sadden by the passing of my dear neighbor Mrs.Short. I would visit her often with fruits, vegetables from the Public Market and to share conversation. She had many many stories of her lifetime, her husband, her children, grandchildren and how our neighborhood used to be back in the old days. What an amazing woman and living such a long life....105 1/2!
I will miss her dearly.
Rest In Peace

A beautiful Woman! Jean and Irv were best friends to
my Parents and Family!!! My Father and Irv were together in the Lions Club and participated in many community activities such as the Fresh Air Fund and school for the deaf! I have many fond memories of her visiting my childhood home. I was always welcomed into her home being Best Friends to this day with her Daughter Lori! I’m comforted knowing she is with her love Irv and my Parents in Heaven! May Jean rest easy! Love and Sympathy, Charmaine
