Please accept my sincere condolences. I saw Doug most days with his sidekick, Shadow. That is how how we first met 4 years ago; as I wanted to meet his beautiful dog. This breaks my heart. I will miss seeing him and Shadow. What a pair.
His Neighbor,
Pat Herzig

We have lived at 825, next to the Kunz’s since 1977. Marge and John were great neighbors and Doug continued that after they passed. He and Shadow were walking at St. Martin’s church everyday, and often helped me with the Little Free Pantry. His children came “trick or Treating “ when they were younger. The neighborhood won’t be the same without you. “Dougie” you left us too soon. Sadly you will be missed. Mike and Carol Geier

I've only known Doug for 2 1/2 yrs. That's when we met over our dogs. We talked, laughed and walked them almost every day since.
I'm going have a really hard time not looking for him to ride his bike or walk down to the church every day at 9:45.
Shadow would be her long before he was. I'm really going miss his company even though sometimes he would be so stubborn he would drive me crazy. But we always talked and laughed later.
He was a dear friend. I'm going to miss him dearly.

I was very saddened to hear about Dougs passing. I have some great memories with him and Meg from our younger days. Going to several concerts and especially going camping in the Adirondacks every year for a week for several years. I remember how proud he was taking the kids Laura and Danny camping when they were very very young wanting them to grow up with a love of camping and the outdoors. My deepest condolences to all of his family and friends. His life ended way too soon. Love to you all and I am keeping you all in my thought and prayers.

So sorry to hear. Doug was a wonderful neighbor and friend and will be missed by all of us. Was so fun watching him throw the garbage can and run the little car around for Shadow. Much condolences and love to his family, our thoughts and prayers are with you
