Some of the best memories stick around forever. I saw Patty every summer for just a few days until I was in my early 20's and moved to California. My Dad was a first cousin to John Moore and we adored his crazy fun, wonderful wife Helen.
Our family would stay at the 1800's cottage nearly sitting on top of Lake Ontario.
I always looked forward to seeing Patty and her great-spirited brother Jack. I've never known anyone like Patty. She was beatific in her own quiet and strong way. Displaying kindness and interest in every conversation, I always felt better afterwards.
Jack, I send my deepest sympathies. It's been too long.
Much love,
Lucinda (Lucy) Callaway

My Aunt Patty was an amazing example of grace, class and generosity. She stepped up so many times in my life to help our family. She went from helping her late husband our Uncle Bob at the end of his health issues and then pretty shortly after jumped into having our grandmother Helen move in who ended up living there till she passed at 102 without a permanent stay at a nursing home. That had many many challenges that I know we never heard a peep from her about. She managed our family cottage, helped my family out financially growing up here and there. She didn't want any accolades, just wanted to see us all do well and succeed. The way she went about things had so much class and so little drama. We need more people like her. The last 10 years of covid, blindness and just getting old were not as kind to her as she was to everyone. I wish it was better for her but I'm glad she is at peace now.
