Obituary of Mary Grace Jones Thomas
Saturday, February 24, 2024, Mary Grace passed away peacefully at the age of 93. Predeceased by her parents, Rev. Thomas W. Jones and Hannah Metcalf Jones; son-in-law, Ken Galen. She leaves her husband of 70 years, Jack; daughters, Gwen (Jim) Hoffman and Gayl Galen; son, Bill (Colleen) Thomas; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Gwen (Harry) Ennis; and loving nieces and nephews.
Mary Grace enjoyed basket making, knitting, playing Scrabble, doing jig saw puzzles, quilting, and sewing (especially last minute Halloween costume requests). She was on the committee that originally began the Webster Museum in 1976, where she shared her knowledge and love of history. She taught Spanish and Social Studies for 25 years in Webster. What mattered most to her were her family and her love for the Lord. We joyfully celebrate her life and rejoice that she is now in her heavenly reward with Jesus.
A special thank you to the staff of Fairport Baptist Home for their compassionate care and to The Village at Penfield where she and Jack made their home for the past 5 years.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 18th Webster Presbyterian Church, 550 Webster Rd. Webster, with a luncheon reception to follow. Private interment at Webster Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Webster Museum or Webster Presbyterian Church. Willard H. Scott Funeral Home.
