Obituary of Lorna May Magin
Ontario, NY: Departed on February 11, 2024, age the age of 100. Predeceased by her parents, Christopher and Florence [Weber] Manuse; sister, Dorothy Manuse Cona; brother-in-law, Charles Cona; husband, Edward R.; son, Christopher; daughter, Barbara; great-grandson, Patrick Buechel; niece, Dolores Cona (John) Gardner. She is survived by her son; John (Janet Peartree); daughter, Marilee (Larry) Buechel; grandchildren, Lynda (Edwin Roa) Buechel, Michael Buechel, David (Danielle) Buechel, Erinn Magin (Dustin Sieve), Lauren Magin (Isaiah Gonsalves); niece, Gloria Cona (Leonard) DeGregory; great-nieces and nephews.
Lorna was born and raised in Rochester, NY, graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School. She was employed by The Camera Art Company as a photographic retoucher and enjoyed spending summers at her cottage on Lake Ontario near Wolcott.
A great cook and baker, Lorna also enjoyed entertaining friends and family with wonderful meals.
After retirement, Lorna spent many years working on hers and Ed's genealogy. They travelled throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe researching and gathering documents.
Special thank you to Teresa Pacek for helping Mom translate the Italian letters.
Lorna was passionate about gardening, both vegetables and flowers. She would spend entire days out in the garden, digging in the dirt and pulling weeds. Her gardens were beautiful.
Making friends wherever she went, Lorna will be missed dearly by all.
Lorna has chosen to donate her body to the URMC Anatomical Gift Program. Friends may call 4-6 PM Monday, April 22, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where her Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 PM. Please consider a donation to Asbury First United Methodist Church, 1050 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14607.
