Dolores Kistner

Obituary of Dolores Kistner

Dolores Kistner, 94, peacefully passed away on January 4, 2024 at the Friendly Home. Dee was born in New York City and raised in Utica, New York. She earned her diploma in nursing and spent her career helping women by specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She worked at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Rochester General Hospital and Planned Parenthood.

In 1950, she married her neighbor and the love of her life, Rudolph Kistner. Rudy has passed in 2014. They were married for 64 loving years. They eventually settled in Webster, New York. From their love of adventure and travel they lived in a number of countries from the Philippines to Saudi Arabia. Dee was courageous, she relocated her family across the world so they could all be together.

They had three children together: Marc Kistner (Marilyn Kistner) of Thousand Oaks, California, Laura Stahl (Joe Stahl) of Kissimmee, Florida, and John Kistner of Rochester, New York.

Dee and Rudy were avid Red Cross volunteers. Dee even volunteered in New York City on September 11th. She found joy in cooking and thrived when entertaining guests. Dee excelled as a bus stop chaperone and relished playing UNO with her grandchildren. More than anything she loved her family and grandchildren: Marjorie Stahl of Kissimmee, Florida, Patrick Stahl (Amber Stahl) of San Francisco, California, Joanna Berger (Dan Berger) of Gorham, Maine, Bridger Latter (Gavin Latter) of Oakland, Oregon, and Matthew Kistner of Denver, Colorado.

Please leave your thoughts and memories of Dee Kistner below. A memorial mass will be scheduled in the future at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Webster, New York.
