I first met Ruth and Jim when I became involved as a volunteer at Maplewood. She was the outgoing conversationalist and he played the crusty introvert. We often sat at the same bingo table. Though he resisted early, he and I shared considerable visitation time following Ruth's passing. I am pleased to have had a part in guiding his path as he dealt with her passing, his painful illness, and his awareness of a short future. He did not expect to see Christmas, but he did. May their souls rest quietly together in His eternal presence. Farewell, my friend.
