Obituary of Eugene "Gene" Fuller
Eugene “Gene” Bradley Fuller, 88 was born April 15, 1935 in New Hartford, NY and departed this life on Friday, September 15th in Webster, NY.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Fuller (Henry Christian) of Cornelius, NC and son-in-law Steve Rogers of Cornelius, NC along with his beloved grandchildren Ken, Jack, Craig (Kjell) & Mike Rogers and Alexa & Ariana Lauer and Haseeb Sarabi. He was also blessed by the births of his great-grandchildren Gabriel and Clementine.
He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Shari Rogers, his sister, Diana Dallal and his brother, Timothy Fuller - as well as his long time partner of over 20 years, Judith Rooney.
He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1957 with an undergraduate degree in Engineering and was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He later received his Master’s Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in Business Administration. His career allowed him to travel frequently to the Middle East and Africa.
Gene was an active member in the Amateur Radio Community since 1951 and participated in the Rochester DX Association for over 30 years. During times of disaster when phone lines were down, he helped facilitate international communications.
His love of sailing led him to volunteer with the Sea Explorers, where he served as Committee Chair for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Pultneyville Yacht Club since 1982, and greatly enjoyed spending time on his sailboat.
He fondly remembered early childhood days at his family camp in the Adirondacks. He carried the memories and appreciation of the mountains with him throughout his life.
As a resident of Webster for over 60 years he was a member of the United Methodist church and also active at the YMCA.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Calling hours will be held Friday, October 6th from 4:00-6:00 at the Willard Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave. in Webster, NY.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, October 7th at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church, 169 East Main Street, Webster, NY.
