Obituary of Ruth Elizabeth Berg
Webster: Died peacefully, at the Maplewood Nursing Home on Sunday evening, Sept. 10, 2023, at the age of 78. Born in Elmira, Ruth is predeceased by her parents, Harold B. Sr. and Gertrude E. Smith. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James P. Berg; brother, Harold B. (Mary Ellen) Smith of Horseheads; nephew, Christopher H. (Chrissy) Smith, Cranberry Township, PA; brother-in-law, Daniel (Betty) Berg; sister-in-law, Kay Berg; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. A special thank you to her niece, Susan Copek and the Maplewood Nursing Home for their loving care.
A Radiological Technologist, Ruth retired after 40 years of service. She was a woman of faith and was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, Elmira in her younger years, and in later years, the Webster UMC. She also attended the First Presbyterian Church in Pulteney NY when at their summer camp. Ruth and Jim enjoyed many vacations around the US and were fans of the Buffalo Bills.
Friends may call 10-11 AM Saturday, Sept. 16 at Webster Methodist Church, 169 E. Main St., Webster, where her Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM Interment at the convenience of the family at Irondequoit Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Gateway-Longview Foundation, 6350 Main St, Williamsville, NY 14221, or a charity of choice.
