Obituary of Allan R. Schichtel
Ontario: Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, age 79. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Rose; children, Doreen (John) LiPari, Lisa (Paul) McPherson and Mark (Kristen) Schichtel; grandchildren, Phil and Sadie LiPari, Ben and Abby McPherson, Eli and Jonah Schichtel; sister, Nancy (Robert) Hodgson; brothers, Peter (Barbara) and Terry (Mary Jane) Schichtel; nieces and nephews.
A Vietnam War Army Veteran, Allan was a long-time member, and chaplain of the Webster VFW Post 9483. He enjoyed vacationing with family and especially loved going to his grandchildren’s games and events. A volunteer with the Webster Food Pantry, Allan was also a Eucharistic minister, sharing the eucharist with many elderly and homebound people. At home, he enjoyed working in the yard and gardening.
Friends may call 4-7 PM Friday, Sept. 15 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Saturday, Sept. 16 at Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Rd., Webster. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 200 Meridian Centre Blvd., Suite 110, Rochester, NY 14618.
