Kost, Bernard Leo, "Bernie", "Boppa Bernie"
Webster: After a well lived life, Bernie leaves us rich in memories and walked through the pearly gates at the age of 84 on December 20, 2016. Predeceased by his parents, John and Modwena Kost, his sister Thérèsa Holland (Walter), and sister-in-law Carolyn Kost. Beloved father of Maureen Kost-Rottler (Michael) of Wading River, NY, Jean Radler (Michael), Robert J. Kost and Diane Christ (Tim). Dear grandfather to Alec, Emily, Matthew, Christopher and Jessica. Also survived by brother, John J. Kost of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bernie was born in Rochester, NY and was a graduate of St. Andrew's Seminary High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and upon his honorable discharge, completed his college degree in business and accounting at St. John Fisher College.
After 30 years, Bernie retired from R. T. French Company on 1 Mustard Street, Rochester, NY. Bernie loved golf, volunteering at the LPGA, music, and was a member of the St. Joseph's Folk Group during the 80's and 90's. Bernie enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren's various activities as well as his walks even when his health required the use of a walker.
The family would like to thank the care givers on the 3rd floor at St. Ann's Care Center at Cherry Ridge, Rainier Grove Memory Care Center at Cherry Ridge, and Hospice Visiting Nurse Service.
