Obituary of David Joseph Merkel

Webster: Saturday, December 3, 2016, age 68. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Constance; children, Sharon Merkel, Colleen Bender and Andrew (Amy) Merkel; grandchildren, Tyler Clark, Michael Bender, Theresa (Eric) Ford and Giovanni DeLorm; several great-grandchildren; sister, Theresa (Jim) Johnson. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, David spent his life helping others. He became a fireman at Ridge Culver Fire Dept. when he was 18 and then on to Webster Fire Dept. for another 48 years. He was an EMT with Union Hill Ambulance for 5 years and served as Chairman on the Town of Webster's Safety Commission for 25 years. He will be missed dearly by all. Friends are invited to his Memorial Service 2:00 PM Sunday., December 11 at Webster Fireman's Exempt Building, 172 Sanford St., Webster.
