Obituary of Mary Merz (Lohrman)

       Mary Merz, age 83, Peacefully on April 1st, 2023. Born to Eugene and Teresa Lohrman on August 25 ,1939 Rochester, NY.  Married to Dale Merz on February 11, 1961 at Holy Trinity Church in Webster, NY.  She is survived by her husband of 62 years Dale Merz, her son Martin (wife Julie; children Asher and Amelia), daughter Ruth Merz Loucks; (children: Tyler wife Hayley, Sean) and son Eric (wife Wendy; children Rachel, Abigail and Noah), her siblings: Ronald Lohrman (wife Kathi), Bernice Parent (husband Daniel), Karen Rodgers (husband Steve), Frederick Lohrman, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

 

       Mary graduated from Mercy High School in 1957.  Prior to starting her family she worked as a secretary at Rochester Telephone.  After marriage in addition to being a mother and housewife Mary enjoyed: supporting Dale's stock car racing career, garage sales, antique collection and sales, gardening, carefully following, chronicling and whenever possible attending her children's and grandchildren's educational, music, theatrics and sporting pursuits.  She named her business "Tabby Tiques" after her last beloved  cat "Peaches".  She also enjoyed listening to and learning about her favorite musical performers (Eagles and Glen Frey). She had a knack for vocabulary (even helped tutor in the schools) 

and a great sense of humor she often combined the two frequently creating humorous puns.  She enjoyed family history and heritage. 

 

       Friends may call 5-8 PM Sunday, April 16 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster.

 

       A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Monday April 17th at: Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Road, Webster, NY 

 

       A reception will follow at Holy Trinity Church 

 

       The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Anne's Nursing Community for their support during her final days.
