Obituary of Michael John Lester

       Webster: 11/13/1953-3/13/2023 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”

       On March 13, Michael (Mike) John Lester, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord at the age of 69. He died at URMC where he spent the last seven months courageously struggling to regain his health.

       Mike was born in Rochester, NY and lived most of his life in Webster. He attended R.L Thomas High School followed by four years at Catholic University of America where his passion for law and order led him to a 33 year career as a NYS parole officer.

       Mike loved motorcycles, dogs, and cards with family and friends. He loved being a Republican. He loved America and Walmart. But most of all, he loved and respected his Catholic faith.

       Mike is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Margaret; his sister, Patricia; his nephew, Matthew Deveney; and many aunts and uncles to include Irene and Robert Uetz whom he considered his second parents. Mike is survived by his brother, Fred (Adele); his sister, Margaret (Gerard) Deveney; his five nieces and two nephews, and many faithful cousins and friends.

       The family will receive friends on Monday, March 20th from 9-10am at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave, Webster. Following this, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rita’s Church, 1008 Maple Dr, Webster. Interment to follow at Webster Union Cemetery, 345 Webster Rd, Webster.
