Sylvia reamins one of those larger than life people. I haven't seen her in years, but her memory is so strong. Sylvia's son, Scott & my younger brother, Fred Swader, were close friends all through school. In 1981 a week after they graduated from high school, Fred was killed in a motorcycle accident. We didn't know Sylvia very well, but I remember she came to our house and literally took over managing the kitchen and flow of traffic for days. It was such a time of chaos and I have been thankful for her skill all of these years.

Sylvia is my fourth cousin that has left us. Life will not be the same. From the early 40’s when our parent’s families (2 sisters and one brother) lived only 10 miles apart we met every weekend, so we had “6 very close cousins” that played together. We became like brothers and sisters, rather than cousins. Sylvia was the youngest.
My wife, Rita, and I built a home in Sodus Point in 1990 and a few years later Sylvia and her husband, Buzz, moved into Sodus Point, so now we “cousins” were a couple blocks apart! Wow—yes, we were together nearly every week, playing cards, dominoes, eating or just “being together”. Was always great to be with my “smiling” cousin and her husband. Yes, we were really closer than most brothers/sisters.
Sylvia (with 3 or 4 other ladies) was very busy during the summer keeping a few flowerbeds around the village looking beautiful. She also kept busy singing in the Church choir and a traveling troupe that moved around the county entertaining the local people.
Now Sylvia will sing in God’s choir for an eternity. And yes, Sylvia please know that we all will be with you when “The Architect in the Sky” calls us to be home with you.

Auntie Sylvia was surrounded by love and laughter at our wedding. A glorious two days with family. Her sister was by her side in her final hours. Give Grandma and Grandpa and Buz a big hug for me, Sylvia. RIP. Love you much.

Sylvia was such a special lady! We worked together at the Elementary School here in Sodus and she loved her Family! She talked about Buzz all the time and her son and daughter as well. She loved her "littles" at school too and they knew it. She is with Buzz now and she is RIP. Sylvia, I will miss you so much and its not going to be the same driving by your house in Sodus Point knowing you are not here but in a way, you are! Love You My Friend!

God's healing light my dear friend and to the family. I loved how Sylvia always stopped by July 4th to say hi at the Lighthouse Festival.
But most of all I'll remember the light in her eyes during your special weekend. The laughs and her special dance with Brittany.
