Obituary of Donald F. Miller

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Donald F. “Don” Miller, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.  He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Miller; son, Greg and daughter in-law Caroline Miller; 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Sean and Megan; long-time girlfriend Rosanne Egeling; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Kay in 1992. Don was a devoted and loving caregiver to Mary Kay during the final years of her life.

Don was born in Rome, NY, and was the son of Fran and Millie Miller.  Growing up in Greece, NY, he was the oldest of six siblings, Bud (Marcia) Miller, Marie (Jerry) Gibaud, Steve (Janice) Miller, Larry (Judy) Miller and Sue (John) Zagata.  Don cherished his parents, siblings and spouses, cousins, children and grandchildren; time spent with them were the core of his cherished memories.

He attended Aquinas Institute, graduating in 1952, where he made many life-long friends.  Activities with classmates and later as an alumni volunteer were a favorite activity of Don’s.  Upon graduating from Aquinas, he entered the Navy where he served four years.  After the Navy, he enrolled at St. John Fisher College, earned an accounting degree, and then worked at Eastman Kodak as an internal auditor.  He spent over 20 years in various accounting roles at Kodak and retired in 1991.

Don’s catholic faith was very important to him. As a parishioner of St. Rita’s in Webster, he volunteered on the finance committee as well as served as an usher at the 9 AM mass for over 50 years.  He loved greeting people and enjoying Sunday breakfast afterwards with family and friends.

His family would like to thank the many caregivers, nurses and doctors that provided loving care for Don over the final years of his life while a resident of St. Anne’s Community in Webster.

Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, February 4 at 10:00 AM at St Rita Church, 1008 Maple Drive, Webster.  In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to Aquinas Institute, 1127 Dewey Ave, Rochester NY 14613 or a charity of your choosing.
