Obituary of Ralph "Lee" Martin
Webster, NY – Lee Martin passed away peacefully on December 24th after spending a fun-filled day with his family. He was 83 years old.
Lee was predeceased by his parents, Aimee and Ralph Martin, and brother Terry Martin. He is survived by his sister-in-law Carol Martin, nephews Scott (Joanne) Martin and Dale (Lisa) Martin, beloved grandniece Jenna (Jacob) Finewood, grandnephew Ryan (Carly) Martin and their children Jett and Willow.
Lee was a master pianist who composed his first song at the age of 4. After graduating from Williamson High School as Valedictorian, he attended the Eastman School of Music and then Syracuse University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. At SU, Lee helped Jim Brown and the football team with their Mathematics homework.
He enjoyed stumping family and friends with random trivia questions that only he knew the answers to (before Siri came to our rescue). For many years, Lee played the piano and organ at many local weddings and at the United Methodist Church in Webster. He regularly entertained fellow residents at Heathwood Assisted Living Center in Penfield by playing his favorite songs.
A service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 4 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home in Webster. Donations may be made in Lee’s memory to the United Methodist Church of Webster, 169 E. Main St., Webster, NY 14580, or your favorite charity. The family thanks staff and friends at Heathwood for their care and friendship.
