Obituary of Mary Jane Kunzog

Webster: Jane passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents, John C. and Alice M. Kunzog; 3 siblings, Alyce, John and Catherine; nephews, William and Robert Wright, Kenneth Kunzog. She is survived by 2 great-nephews, William (Michelle) Wright and Dana Wright; great-niece, Laura Garling; great-great-nephew, William Wright; beloved cat, Sam. Jane leaves a legacy of friends that she considered to be family. In her 91 years, Jane did a lot of living and loving. Following her education at Cortland, she had a long teaching career starting in Wayland, NY, and retiring from East Rochester after having taught Biology for many years. Jane remained in touch with her former colleagues and students right up until her final days. In retirement years, Jane continued to live life with her strong work ethic. She volunteered at St. Rita Church and School, George Eastman House gardens and St. Peter and Paul Soup Kitchen. Her family and friends wish to thank Dr. Philip Stein at Rochester General Hospital for his compassionate care the last days of her journey. Friends may call 4:00-6:30 Wednesday at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Mass of Christian Burial 9:15 AM Thurs at St. Rita Church, 1008 Maple Dr., Webster.
