Obituary of Adeline C. Maynard (Pilawa)

              Webster: November 19, 2021. Adeline C. Maynard, 89, of Webster, NY, passed away Friday November 19, 2021 at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, Rochester, NY. She would have turned 90 on Christmas day. Adeline passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Utica, NY. She worked for Chicago Pneumatic for a number of years before moving to Webster in 1962 with her husband and daughters where she has since resided. She was a dedicated Xerox employee and worked as an Executive Secretary for more than 33 years prior to her retirement. Adeline enjoyed traveling, playing Scrabble, and she treasured spending time with her family.

              Surviving are her sister, Maryrose Gal of San Diego, CA; brothers, Edward Pilawa of Chesapeake, VA and Casimir Pilawa of Utica, NY; sister-in-law Carol Barney of Utica, NY; brother-in-law Dick Maynard of Utica, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her loving husband after 66 very special years of marriage, George Maynard, two daughters, Deborah (Richard) Sanza and Karen Maynard, grandchildren Megan (Dylan) Boyd and Jason Sanza, and great grandchildren Bilal Salvatore Boyd and Salem Adeline Boyd.

              She was a devoted member of both Holy Trinity of Utica and St. Rita’s Church of Webster.

Adeline was predeceased by her sisters, Felicia Mirbach, Frances Mangano and Lydia Bitzer; and brothers, John, Chester, Edwin, Stanley, and Matthew Pilawa.

              Adeline’s immediate family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Lipson Cancer Center for their wonderful staff and the excellent care and treatment she received over the last four and a half years.

              Relatives and friends in Webster may call Friday, November 26, 2021 from 3-7pm at Willard H Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave, Webster, NY. A Webster Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday, November 27 at 10am at St. Rita’s Church, 1008 Maple Drive, Webster, NY.

                Loved ones in Utica may call Monday, November 29 at 4-7pm at Kowalcyzk Funeral Home, 470 French Road, Utica, NY. A Utica Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 30 at 11:30am at Holy Trinity Church, 1206 Lincoln Ave, Utica, NY. Adeline will be laid to rest in Holy Trinity Cemetery, 1500 Champlin Ave, Utica, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lipson Cancer Center, LInden Oaks, Rochester, NY.
