Obituary of Joan Spence Grout

Greece/Webster: Sunday, July 25, 2021, age 83. Predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Grout. She leaves her children: John Grout, Jeanne Sandahl and her children, Erik and Brian; Amy (Garry) Sullivan and their children, Elizabeth, David, Michael, Emily, Grace, and Peter; Maria (Gabriel) Pellegrino and their children, Anthony and Robert; sister, Barbara Barnett; nieces and nephews.

A perpetual student, Joan loved taking classes at Nazareth College, and even though she was an English major, Art History was her passion.  She loved music.  When her children were younger, she was the editor of the Kirk Road, Greece, Elementary School Newspaper.  Later, she worked with preschoolers at the Northwest YMCA in Greece.

Friends may call 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM Wednesday, August 4, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Thursday, August 5, at Holy Spirit Church, 1355 Hatch Rd., (corner of Plank Rd.,), Webster. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
