I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I've know Mr Sexton, who later became Charlie, since I was a young boy participating in youth sports in Webster. Having been involved in a life time of work, at the Webster Highway Department, I got to work on many Parks and Recreation projects with him. It was always a pleasure to be in his presence. He had an infectious smile and always a kind greeting. He was a man of integrity and you knew it the minute he spoke. His legacy will live on forever .Words cannot begin to express all his accomplishments over the years and the camaraderie we all enjoyed working with him.My most sincere condolences to the Sexton family. He is missed and will forever be in our hearts.

Charles is my step grandfather but I have known him my whole life. I didn't just love him because he is my grandpa, I loved him for the human he was. He truly is someone unique and amazing. He always supported my art wholeheartedly and it would fill me with such pride when I heard him talk about it. He was just such a warm character with the sweetest heart. I know he would call me "his girl" and he had pride for me which made me feel so loved. Everyone around him loved and respected him. I can't speak as much about his accomplishments but I can explain that he was someone special and I miss him every day. He will always stay very close in my heart.

I have known Charlie since the early 1970's when he was the Director of Webster Parks and Recreation and an usher at Holy Trinity Church.
Charles worked with the Webster U.S. Army Reserve units in utilizing the parks for military training, making sure that the units were good weekend tenants who followed the rules and left the training areas such that no one would even know they had been there. It was a great partnership that resulted in many friendships.
Being greeted by Charlie at the Saturday evening Mass at Holy Trinity was always a blessing. His smile and handshake/hug were a true blessing to so many people.
We missed our dear friend because of COVID, and now we will have to wait until we join him in heaven to see him again. Until then, my friend, rest in peace with your Lord and Savior.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of a wonderful human being, friend and professional mentor to me. I met Mr. Sexton back in 1971 when he came to a career day presentation at Webster Thomas High School. I was so intrigued and interested in what he did for a living that I majored in Parks and Recreation Administration. I worked for the Webster Recreation, Parks and Community Services Dept. both part time and full time, from 1972 to 1980. Charlie, as I was later allowed to call him (-: was an inspiration to me and many others as we began our professional careers. He was always quick to offer me encouragement, professional advice and congratulations as my career moved forward. I can think of very few people who had the impact on my life, career choice and my future then Charles did. He was a man of great moral character, determination and community involvement. He was responsible for bringing the Recreation and Parks system in Webster into the future and was responsible for laying the foundation to the community that Webster has become. I have always had the most profound respect and admiration for him and will miss him. The world has lost a truly great man and I send out my sincere condolences to all of his family and friends.
Godspeed Charles Regis P. Steinkamp & Family
