Obituary of James D. Sudore
Rochester: Passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 19, 2021, age 86. Predeceased by his parents; Rose & Philip Sudore; brother, Michael; and infant daughter, Tracy Lynn. He is survived by his wife of 57 years and best friend, Gail; sons, Philip and Stephen (Charlene); daughter Jennifer Wilson (Stephen Schutt); grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Wilson, Alex and Alyssa Sudore; sister, Frances Spina; brothers, Philip (Vera), Frank (Tara); sister-in-law, Helen; along with many nieces and nephews.
Jim taught High School Math for 33 years in the Rochester City School District, finishing his career at Edison Technical High School. James served in the New York Army National Guard from March 1957 – May 1966. Jim learned the basics of carpentry from his family and advanced to teach himself the art to a level of becoming as master carpenter. He also was selected to teach Union Carpenter Apprentices at night school.
James volunteered 12 years with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts during the time his sons advanced through scouting. Jim constructed many homes with and for his family.
James enjoyed a good game of euchre, jigsaw puzzles, extremely challenging sudoku, and most cherished time with extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held 2-5 PM Sunday, May 23, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Private burial at Webster Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to favorite charity or Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd, Rochester, NY 14625.
