Obituary of Joan Ann (Sperrazza) Damick

     Webster/Florida: Peacefully passed into the arms of the angels on January 30, 2021 at the age of 86.  Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Amanda Sperrazza and twin brother Joseph.  Survived by her husband of 65 years, Peter; children, Cathy (Thomas) Freeman, Mark (Elaine), Brian, Colleen Shaughnessy and Julie Wentworth; grandchildren, Shawna (Billie) Butts, Ashley Johnston and Jamie Shaughnessy; great-grandsons, Michael, William and Andrew and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
     Joan graduated from West High in 1953, Highland Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 and received a BS degree from Empire State College.  Joan spent most of her 45-year nursing career as an oncology nurse at RGH where her compassionate way of caring for patients created many life-long friends.  She was an avid reader and a life- long learner.  She was spiritual, kind and always had a grateful heart.
     Friends may call Thursday, May 13, 4-7 PM at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Avenue, Webster.   Her funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 14th, 10 AM at Saint Rita’s Catholic Church, 1008 Maple Drive, Webster.  In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity in her memory.
