Obituary of Evelyn R. Winter

Webster:  Thursday, April 1, 2021, age 96.  Predeceased by her husband, John;  son, Fred Winter.  She leaves her daughter, Kathie (Lindsay) Hurn; daughter-in-law, Lucia Winter;  4 grandchildren, Corrine (Joe) Dye, Chad (Laura) Hurn, John (Shara) Winter and Toni (Steve) Battaglia;  6 great-grandchildren;  several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn graduated from Rochester General Hospital School of Nursing in 1945, married in 1947 and began their family with two children soon after.  In her nursing career, she worked in the Emergency Room at the hospital, a local doctor’s office and then 15 years at RG&E as an industrial nurse.  Upon retirement, she and John built a house in Florida where they lived, entertained family, golfed together and loved life.  She will be remembered for her success on the golf course, as a loving mother, grandmother and "Big Nama".

Friends may call 4-7 PM Monday, April 5 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where her Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM.  Private interment at White Haven Memorial Park.  Memorials may be directed to Ontario Food Pantry, PO Box 314, Ontario, NY 14519.
