Thank you for your stories, your continued support and your expressions of sympathy. We had initially hoped to hold a service for Family & Friends on Theda's Birthday. Given the weather we were advised to put that off until at least early Spring. We 'll update you when we have more specifics. With warmest regards, Liz & Family

Mr. and Mrs. Hayes were of our family's closest friends, and they had a deep impact on the early lives of my grandmother, grandfather, father, and aunt. When my grandparents moved to Webster from downstate, they did not know many people. Their neighbors, the Hayes', became great friends with my grandparents, and were like grandparents to my father and aunt.
My father always took me over to visit Mrs. Hayes, and I distinctly remember the candy dish in her living room was never empty. In January of 2020, just before the pandemic hit, Dad and I went to St. John's to visit Mrs. Hayes on a whim. I had just moved into an apartment down the road, so we figured why not? Despite not seeing me since I was young, she knew exactly who I was - sharp as a tack right to the end. I am forever grateful that we made the decision to stop that day and spend a wonderful afternoon with her.
My sincere condolences to Liz and the rest of the family. Her wit and cleverness will be dearly missed.

I remember meeting Theda at a Marion Alumni reunion several years ago. And I remember marveling at what an amazing woman she was! She was a joy to talk to. My parents, Cal and Betty Fisher (Mom was Marion Class of 1940) struck up a friendship with her which resulted in visiting each other a few times subsequently. Sadly, Dad passed away in 2015 and Mom in 2016, both at the age of 93. My condolences to Theda’s family; she will be fondly remembered by so many!

I was told that "Ma" Burke lived to the age of 106, not 108 as I'd previously thought. Gram would probably say, "Close enough." and raise a glass to her.

Aunt Theda No one will ever take your place in this world. You will be well remembered by a lot of people who loved and cared for you.
There are many fond memories that we will cherish. The cottage was one of them. How we all got excited to hear a car coming from the road to know it was you and U. Dick coming to your cottage for the weekend. The lake was a great getaway for all.
Loved coming to your beauty salon in West Webster to get my permanent and have lunch with you.
The bonfires on the beach. We knew U.Dick was there watching to make sure we were behaving and not let the fire get out of control. Cleaning fish. Filet the fish also.
I could go on but those are all in my heart to save and cherish.
I’m sure you and mom will have a lot to talk about and the others we also miss dearly.
RIP
Betty

Aunt Theda was my favorite and sweetest aunt. I remember making cookies with her when I was little or maybe I just ate them. Going to the west Webster ice skating rink She will be missed.
