Obituary of Elaine M. Horan

     Tampa, FL: passed away December 14, 2020. She was born in Rochester, NY to Olga (nee Ewachow) and Felix Cushman. She was the oldest of four children.  She graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelor of Science degree. While teaching mathematics for the Liverpool School district, she earned a Master's degree from Syracuse University.  Shortly after she withdrew from teaching to focus her efforts on raising her two sons.  Elaine returned to the workforce to take a position with the New York State Workmen’s Compensation Fund as an insurance auditor, until her retirement in 2010. 

     She will be remembered as a loving mother enjoying time with her sons while being an avid outdoor enthusiast, tennis player, Cub Scout leader.

She is survived by her two sons Gregory (Christine) and Daniel of Tampa, FL; her grandchildren, Samantha and Jacqueline; her brothers Stephen (Darlene) of Webster, NY, John (Patricia) of Irondequoit, NY and her sister Karen (James) Pembroke of Rochester, NY.

     Visitation for friends and family will be held 9-10 AM Saturday, May 22, at Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Rd., Webster. A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine will follow at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church. A prior memorial service was held on January 8 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lutz, FL, (sainttims.org)).
