Obituary of Dolores H. Gardner
Webster: Monday, December 7, 2020, age 83.
Dolores died at home after a long battle with diabetes. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, John. She leaves her children, Andrew (Jennifer Enskat) and Audrey (Martin Guptill) Gardner; sister, Gloria (Leonard) DeGregory; niece, Christine DeGregory-Palermo; nephew, Richard (Susan) DeGregory.
Dolores was born February 3, 1937 in Rochester, New York to Charles and Dorothy (Manuse) Cona. She married John A. Gardner at Waring Baptist Church in Rochester on August 4, 1962, after graduating from SUNY Geneseo with a degree in Education. Nothing gave her greater pleasure than teaching kindergarteners in the Rochester City School District, which she did for 37 years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed making crafts to share with friends and sell at church fundraisers. Dolores was a huge fan of Doc Martin and other PBS fare. She frequently donated to various charitable causes; from animal rescues to orphans of AIDS in Africa.
