Doug was a good friend to Dan as teenagers. They trapped muskrats at Holt Rd. creek and play basketball in the old barn. But they grow-up and raise families of their own and weren't as close then. But he came to one of the "class breakfast" and gave Dan a picture of Ron Johnson and Dan together. That was the last time Dan and I saw him. Hope he is at peace in the Savior Arms.
Love, peace, grace, hope, faith and joy in the Lord Jesus Christ,
Dan And Kitty Szymusiak

I have known Mr Marquardt for 59 years. My Parents and the Marquardts were friends in the WVFD and carnivals were the best time ever. We always knew we were safe when he was around and enjoyed hanging around his “stand”. Marching in parades and the impromptu volleyball challenge were highlights of the summer.
He was a wonderful man who Loved his family friends and community. Although I didn’t see him much in the last few years he will be missed and thought of fondly

Doug is my cousin, we are about the same age and have had little or no contact since I moved to Florida in the early 1950's, A year or so ago I made contact with his family through email. by way of f/b. It was obvious the love he had for his family, friends and community and the love they showed to him in return. On a f/b video I saw his family, friends, and the Webster fire department drive by to salute him at his home. In all honesty, this brought tears to my eyes. A loving father and a patriot. REST IN PEACE DOUG AND MY PRAYERS TO YOUR FAMILY..
Your Cousin,, Brent .

Doug Marquardt was a stand up guy and I can prove it! I met Doug through the Boy Scouts when his son Bernie joined the troop. We were at a troop run summer camp in the Adirondacks and Jordy Suter's Grandfather died. Now Doug knew there was no way to contact us where we were camping. He got in his car, drove to Stillwater Reservoir in the Adirondacks, got a boat and took it to the trail head and hiked 5 miles to our campsite. He rounded up Fred and Jordy Suter and transported them back to Webster so they could go to the Grandfather's funeral. The guy never bragged complained or whined. If you wanted a job to be done right the first time, he was your man. I told you he Was a stand up guy. No worries if he was behind you! RIP Doug we are all behind you now!

Such an amazing man who will be tremendously missed by all those who knew and loved him. Always like a father to me and in my mind, a pillar of the community. Love you Bonehead, rest easy riding your tractor high in the sky. Much love to the Marquardt family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
