I got to know Bruce through Caledonia Rotary in the mid 70's. I entered the insurance/financial planning profession in the late '70s. Bruce was part of the Security Mutual Agency. We would see each other at Rotary and insurance-related events. Always had interesting and valuable conversations. I can see from the suggestions for memorials that Bruce maintained his love of Rotary. God Bless!

I am only Bruce's grandson by marriage, but he really made me feel like I was part of the family. And quite a family it is. Now on its fourth generation, the extended Nye family is a living testimony to Bruce's character, love and dedication. He loved his family and set a great example for his children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren on how to live a good and honorable life. I pray to God I am able to leave behind a legacy like Bruce's. The world needs more men like Bruce Nye. We shall all miss him dearly. I love you Grandpa.

I don't even know where to start with the memories I have of my grandpa. There are so many. I loved dressing up and going to rotary club with him when I was younger; him and grandma "camping" at the end of our driveway every summer; sharing all the milestones of graduations, weddings, births; being able to live with him and grandma during one of my work rotations was the best!! Getting bonefish grill with them, returning to Seabrook and our old stomping grounds near the restaurant we went to for rotary. All great memories. I think my favorite by far is when I was able to tell him I was pregnant. Seeing the joy that spread across his face was amazing. He was so excited for us and it made me feel so proud to be able to share that with him. There are no words to describe how much I love my grandfather. I am going to miss him so much. I love you so much grandpa.

We loved chatting with Bruce in the driveway and visiting him and Sheilagh in their home. We loved hearing about all their RV and travel adventures. We will always remember his wonderful smile. God Bless all of you during this time.

One of my favorite memories of grandpa that I will never forget was when we were younger how grandpa would always tickle our necks with his fingers and make this squeaking sound with his mouth while he did it, it always made us laugh and laugh!!
I am so thankful that I got to spend so much time with him and my grandma with my children since they moved back up to NY it was such a blessing to be so close by!! We have such great memories that will stay with us forever and will always make me smile! Whenever I get sad I will look back at my birthday cards and see all the smiley faces grandpa used to draw and it will remind me to smile because he is smiling down on us now! I (we) love you more than you could ever know and you always used to say "how did I get so lucky" but it was us that were the lucky ones having such a wonderful man in our lives!
Love you to the end of the earth grandpa, Rest In Peace

One of my favorite memories of my grandfather would be when he took me, my two sisters, and my three cousins to Rotary lunch. He was always so proud of us. And the guys at Rotary would always fine him for bragging! Hahah

I hope everyone will enjoy Dad's memorial. He has had a wonderful life, growing up as a rebel kid in Andover NY, joining the Airforce with my Uncle Ken at the beginning of the Korean war, something he was super proud of. He served at RAF Brize Norton in England where he met and married my Mom (thank goodness for that). My sister, Debbie, was born there and they joined Dad back in Andover, eventually moving to Hornell NY. Where my Brother, Tim, and I were born. We eventually moved to an apartment in the city of Rochester, then to an Apartment in Chili NY, and eventually to our home on Eagan Blvd. in Henrietta. Mom and Dad had a trailer at Faun Lake NY where the whole family spent summers and winters enjoying the camp. When my brother was in high school they hosted an exchange student, Ernesto, from Brazil. His family became part of our family, with 2 more “grandchildren”. As our kids grew up the entire family would get together for family camping. Our Nye family grew to 16, Mom and Dad were very involved with the 8 grandchildren, and now there are 11 great grandchildren. Dad gets to spend time with his 2 great grandchildren now, something I'm not sure they are ready for. They both retired and moved to a wonderful home on Seabrook Island South Carolina, where everyone visited them many many times over the years while raising our kids. They eventually moved to Myrtle Beach. The family now had kids that could drive so the visits to Myrtle beach increased, some toting friends along and some spending months with them. In 2017 we helped them move to Webster, closer to most of the family. Some of the grandchildren's families have moved out of the area, but still manage to come back and visit. I loved my Dad and would do anything for him. He was a fighter and endured many many things that would have stopped most people. His fight is over and although I am sorry he is gone I am glad he doesn't have to fight anymore. I love you Dad.
