Obituary of Robert Clark

Webster: Thursday, July 30, 2020 at age 93 having outlived his beloved wife Joyce after 56 years of marriage.  He leaves daughter Jody Clark in Aiken, South Carolina and Lori Singleton and husband Gregory in Webster, New York; granddaughters, Erin, Joy, and Mallory; 6 great grandchildren.  Also, a sister Wilma Chadwick of Rochester, NY and niece Barbara Yusa (Dennis) of Irondequoit, NY. 

He was an Architect and conducted a private practice in Webster, New York from 1964 until his retirement in 1990.  He also leaves many friends in the Netherlands Antilles and Europe after having spent extensive time in both locations.  He was a graduate of Cornell University where he was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity, rowed on the varsity crew and was a member of the Quill & Dagger senior men’s Honorary Society.  He was an avid swimmer, skier, scuba diver, underwater photographer and outstanding athlete having won many national and international rowing championships including world championships in a single sculling and as a sweep oarsman stroking USA composite boats.  He was also a 50 year member of the Webster Presbyterian Church, a mason, member of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner and a member of the Royal Order of jesters.  Special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at the Maplewood Nursing Home. 

There will be a private family burial service.  A memorial service at the Webster Presbyterian Church and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date for friends and family.  In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the Robert F. Clark Cornell University Crew Endowment fund, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.
