Obituary of Sandra McCormack
Webster: Thursday, July 16, 2020, age 51. Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Grace DeWolf; sister, Patricia Scheck. She leaves her husband, Andrew McCormack; daughters, Emily and Sara Tomei; 3 sisters, Jean (Robert) Fordon, Mary (Tony) Bonanno and Sharon (Charles) Knight; nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Sandy was an incredible multi-sport athlete, and a hall of fame Nazareth basketball star who held numerous team statistical records when she graduated, many which still stand to this day.
She continued to support her Golden Flyers and never forgot her roots. Sandy was a career educator who left her mark wherever she went. She impacted many lives, both adults and children, and it was impossible to not notice and love her contagious smile which lit a room, filled hearts, and made the sun shine brighter. She had an incredible ability to connect to all people and took a personal interest in everyone she met. Sandy had a strong faith, and rather than it be shaken by her health challenges it only strengthened it. The family is eternally grateful for the love and support from so many friends, neighbors, strangers, colleagues and our church. The outpouring of love that has occurred over this time has been a testament to the love that Sandy has brought into the world. Sandy said recently “there is much hate out there. Don’t give back the hate. Choose to love.” Those words embodied her spirit and how she treated others, regardless of status or position in life. She was a beautiful and irreplaceable soul taken far too soon.
