Obituary of Helen (Adams) Donnelly
Penfield: Helen went home to our beloved Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2020, after a long illness at age 81. Predeceased by her parents, John & Mary Adams and her devoted husband, Michael J. Donnelly. Helen is survived by her brother, John B. Adams; sisters, Margaret Guest, Barbara Ferguson and Mary Kemp; aunts, Kathi McSweeney & Helen Boyer; nephews & niece, Greg (Terri) Ferguson, Brian (Audrey) Ferguson, Elizabeth Adams VanBlargan, Michael (Hope) Adams, Doug (Amy) Adams; great-nephews, Eric (Veronica) Ferguson, Scott Ferguson, Max Ferguson, Gavin Ferguson, Craig & Brendan VanBlargan; great-nieces, Zoe Ferguson, Caitlyn Adams and Keeley VanBlargan (goddaughter) and many loving relatives and dear friends.
Helen was born and grew up in Potsdam, NY. She was a graduate of SUNY Potsdam and received her BA in Education. Over three decades she was a kindergarten teacher in the East Irondequoit Central School District.
Helen was blessed to have many talents. She was a wonderful educator, a profession she truly loved, seamstress and homemaker. She and her husband Michael enjoyed the winter months on Marco Island, FL.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the dedicated staff and caregivers at Crest Manor, Fairport, NY who took such good care of their beloved sister, Helen.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jerome's Church, East Rochester with a private family interment at Webster Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Wilmot Cancer Center, Blood Disorder Research, URMC Box 703, 601 Elmwood Ave. Rochester, NY14642.
