Obituary of Edward W. Herzig

Webster: Passed away on Feb 2nd at age 75 with his wife, Pat, by his side; the definition of partners in life after 40 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter, Cheryl (William) Morris; sisters, Bunnie, Lolly, Annie and Suzie; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews; AND his devoted cats George and Gracie. Ed had a great love of nature, animals and all the children in his life. Ed had no disabilities but abilities, as he led a full and active and happy life. He was sentimental and fiercely independent, who time and time again defied all the odds with his strong will to live. Ed was a proud Navy veteran, long time Buffalo Bills fan and played wheelchair basketball for many years with the Rochester Wheels. He retired after 32 + years from Wegmans Food Markets; a company for which he was very proud to be part of. Friends are invited to calling hours 2-4 PM, Thursday, February 13, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where Ed’s funeral service will take place at 4 PM. After the service, a Celebration of Ed’s Life will take place at the Northside Inn, 311 N. Washington St., East Rochester. Private entombment at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lollypop Farm or any organization that helps animals in need.
