An avid swimmer, she was a water safety instructor for many years, first for the American Red Cross in the Syracuse area. She then later taught swimming in the Webster School District swimming program. In earlier years, Adelaide served on the Board of Directors of the Monroe County Special Olympics and on the Board of the New York State Federation of Women’s Clubs.
